Viatu Travel is proud to announce that we have become a signatory to the Future of Tourism. The Future of Tourism is a global and forward-looking coalition of influential travel and tourism organisations that aim to shift the status quo and to reset the tone of tourism post-Covid-19. These powerhouse organisations are: the Center for Responsible Travel (CREST), Destination Stewardship Center, Green Destinations, Sustainable Travel International, Tourism Cares, and the Travel Foundation, with the guidance of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC).
Viatu has set its mission to revolutionise the travel industry by making sustainable travel an effortless experience. Being a part of the Future of Tourism grants Viatu access to networks and strategic resources on cutting-edge transformations within the tourism industry. This accessibility holds tremendous importance in fuelling and expanding the business reach of our goal of being a leader in sustainable travel.
The Future of Tourism signatories must follow a comprehensive guideline that elaborates on 13 guiding principles. These principles shed light on key and under-represented areas for sustainable tourism development. These all–inclusive principles acknowledge the vitality of having a holistic approach in creating a global industry that promotes collaboration, accountability, sustainability, and socio-economic equity. The 13 guiding principles of the Future of Tourism encapsulate Viatu’s core aim of being a conscious and sustainable business.
The Future of Tourism intends to position its signatories as beckoning agents of success in the sustainable tourism sphere. The Viatu team is excited to join this movement as it marks a new era of our operative strategy towards growing sustainable travel.
